**How Did the Sewing Go?**
I was searching for a classic, high-waisted trousers pattern that I could modify into tailored shorts. When I came across the Hollywood Trousers pattern, I knew it would be perfect for my vision. Last year, I noticed this style of shorts popping up everywhere on the runway, so I decided to create a suit inspired by those looks.
For my first pair, I chose a medium-weight cotton suiting with a subtle black-and-white check pattern. From a distance, the fabric looks like a solid gray because the check is so fine.
The instructions in the Hollywood Trousers pattern were incredibly clear, which made the sewing process straightforward. It had been years since I’d made trousers, but the detailed guidance helped me through every step.
