China is widely recognized as the leading nation in the global bamboo industry. In 2009, the sector generated an output value of 66 billion yuan and earned over $1 billion in foreign exchange through exports. With the rising demand for sustainable and eco-friendly products, the bamboo industry has expanded beyond traditional markets in Southeast Asia to reach Europe, the United States, Japan, and the Middle East. This growing global interest presents a historic opportunity for further development and innovation in the bamboo sector.
To capitalize on this trend, the first China Zhejiang Bamboo Expo was organized at the right time. The event aims to establish an international platform for the bamboo industry, fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth.
