Dushan jade is named after Dushan, which is produced in the northern suburbs of Nanyang City, Henan Province. It is also known as Nanyang Jade. Dushan jade has a fine texture, very bright color, high hardness, full of radiance, and looks very close to jade, so many foreign scholars call it Nanyang Jade. Dushan jade is one of the four famous jade in ancient China. It has been recorded in many ancient books. The Northern Wei Dynasty Tao Yuanyuan "Shui Jing Zhu" contains: "Nanyang has Yushan, mountain and mountain out of jade"; Southern Dynasty Tao Hongjing said: "Good Jade, out of Lantian and Nanyang." The main minerals are plagioclase, strontium stone, fluorite stone, and chrome mica. Transparency varies from semi-transparent to opaque. The translucent blue-green jade is the best variety of Dushan jade. It is also known as “Tianlan Jade†or “Nanyang Jade†in business.
